Jess and Matt on the infield at the Del Mar Raceway. The horses ran two races on the grass track that you see over Matt's shoulder, and six on the longer dirt track beyond the grass. We had a pretty good view of the horses in all the races, and were right near the finish line. The only drawback to being on the infield was that we could only see about a quarter of the race in front of us, and a smaller portion if we turned around and looked toward the other side. We could see the whole race on a large screen monitor that wasn't too far away. Matt's old trumpet teacher plays every day at the racetrack to announce the start of each race.
